Mission

To create brighter futures for poor students by enabling their education, access to information and improving computer literacy in these rural areas. We will achieve this through providing usable old computers to facilitate distance learning and access to educational materials. By repairing old computers, we will contribute to a reduction in the growing environmental impact of technology.

Beneficiaries

Poor students living in mountainous areas and attending remote schools will directly benefit from these donations. Their families and communities will indirectly benefit through the increased education levels and improved employment opportunities.

How we will do it

We will include useful software such as an internet browser and word processor. We will also provide a microphone, as this will be important for distance learning.

We will not use any pirated software that is against it's EULA

We will provide basic computer training for children in poor areas. We will provide a video tutorial on how to use the computer, however as a lot of our beneficiaries in rural areas have never used a computer before, we will include printed instructions detailing how to open the video. Additionally, we will include instructions on how to create an email account and preinstall a Vietnamese dictionary on every computer.

Some computer components may be unusable if they are deemed unfixable. These components will be brought to a recycling center near our facility.

We will take all donations regardless of how old the computer is, however, we will test them to see if they can be used, as we do not want to provide computers that are not fit-for-purpose. To pass the test, the computer must be able to do a Zoom call without major lag, play YouTube videos at 360-480p smoothly and browse the internet without major lag.
